AN IMMERSIVE JOURNEY
TO DISCOVER SHARED VALUES
Vittorio Grassi Architects has designed a special installation for the Samsonite flagship store in via San Pietro all’orto 11, in the heart of Milan. The project, which involves the windows on the street and the inside of the store, is conceived as an immersive journey to discover the values shared by the studio and the historic luggage brand, first of all sustainability, innovation and industrial research.
On one side Samsonite, in its responsible path to become the most sustainable company of suitcases, bags and lifestyle accessories in the world, and on the other side Vittorio Grassi Architects, promoter of a modular, ecological and customizable architecture: the encounter between these realities generates a concept that explores the concepts of lightness, technology, resistance, attention to detail and harmony applied on different scales and inspired by the natural world.
Traveling Architectures is a site-specific installation that, between visual suggestions and parallels between the projects of the VGA studio and the microarchitecures of the Samsonite collections, leads the visitor to explore the Samsonite world, moving from the product to the new responsible strategy of the brand, and the design vision of VGA, which embraces unprecedented forms of sustainable prefabrication, completely customizable and designed from the beginning in all its digital declinations.
Lo studio Vittorio Grassi Architects progetta una speciale installazione per il flagship store Samsonite in via San Pietro all’orto 11, nel cuore di Milano. Il progetto, che coinvolge le vetrine su strada e l’interno del negozio, è ideato come un viaggio immersivo alla scoperta dei valori condivisi dallo studio e dallo storico marchio di valigeria, primi fra tutti la sostenibilità, l’innovazione e la ricerca industriale.
Da una parte Samsonite, nel suo percorso responsabile per diventare l’azienda di valigie, borse e accessori lifestyle più sostenibile al mondo, e dall’altra Vittorio Grassi Architects, promotore di un’architettura modulare, ecologica e personalizzabile: l’incontro tra queste realtà genera un concept che esplora i concetti di leggerezza, tecnologia, resistenza, cura del dettaglio e armonia applicati su scale diverse e ispirati dal mondo naturale.
Traveling Architectures è un allestimento site-specific che, tra suggestioni visive e parallelismi tra i progetti dello studio VGA e le microarchitetture delle collezioni Samsonite, porta il visitatore a esplorare il mondo Samsonite, muovendo dal prodotto alla nuova strategia responsabile del marchio, e la visione progettuale di VGA, che abbraccia forme inedite di prefabbricazione sostenibile, completamente personalizzabile e pensata fin dall’inizio in tutte le sue declinazioni digitali.
